PassCode Release "GENESIS" MV, Mark 10-Year Major Debut
PassCode is charging into their next era with the release of “GENESIS,” a striking new single that arrives as the lead track from their 10th anniversary major debut album RE:CODE. The accompanying music video drops today, and it’s a statement of intent from a band that refuses to stand still.
For those new to PassCode: they’re an electronic visual kei outfit known for blending synth-heavy production with theatrical presentation and intricate vocal arrangements. Over a decade of major label work, they’ve built a devoted international fanbase through relentless touring and uncompromising artistry. This milestone moment deserves the spotlight.

RE:CODE, released October 28, 2026, is more than a simple retrospective. The album features re-recorded versions of fan-favorite tracks from their catalog, but the key word is re-recorded—each song has been meticulously reconstructed with the current lineup’s latest vocal performances and sonic sensibilities. “GENESIS” is the only completely new composition, and it’s positioned as a declaration: PassCode isn’t looking back indefinitely, they’re sprinting forward.
Director Takiya Oohata framed the MV concept around transcendence—the idea that PassCode is breaking through absolute rules like gravity and time itself to birth a new era. Vocalist Nanao Minami expanded on this vision, drawing a striking parallel to their debut single “MISS UNLIMITED” from ten years ago. That original MV featured the band in pure white, symbolizing their potential to absorb any color. Now, in GENESIS, they return to a white space—but transformed, wearing history, warmth, and chromatic depth earned through a decade of evolution.

Currently, PassCode is touring their “UNLIMITED X” anniversary tour across 18 cities. The campaign will culminate in a special two-day finale at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo—the very venue where they first announced their major label deal—with the promise that no songs will repeat across both nights.
RE:CODE is available now in limited and standard editions. Grab it through official Japanese retailers, and catch PassCode live if they’re coming your way. This is a band at full throttle.
