MUCC Launch 30th Anniversary Campaign With "Love Letter" Single

MUCC are stepping into a landmark year with fresh material and an ambitious slate of anniversary celebrations. The legendary outfit—active since 1997 and foundational to Japan’s visual rock scene—have unveiled the music video for their 50th single, “Love Letter,” arriving November 17th, while simultaneously confirming a new album and extensive tour schedule for 2027.

The “Love Letter” video channels 90s grunge aesthetics with MUCC’s signature dark theatricality. Think inorganic, cool-toned spaces bathed in blue light, writhing chains ensnaring the band members, and stark crimson accents cutting through the frame. The title’s romantic connotations clash deliberately with an atmosphere of unease and tension—a visual paradox that nods to alternative rock culture while cementing MUCC’s distinct aesthetic worldview. The band premiered the full clip during a YouTube livestream alongside a freshly unveiled 30th anniversary logo.

The anniversary machinery is already in motion. On January 5th, 2027, MUCC will kick off their 30th-year campaign with a fan club–exclusive live at Mito Lighthouse in their home prefecture of Ibaraki. Then, in February 2027, the band will release LOTUS—their 18th full-length album—supported by nationwide in-store events and a spring tour spanning major venues from Osaka to Sapporo through May.

In-store signings run from late January through May across Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Kyoto, Sapporo, and other regions, with rotating member appearances. The “LOTUS” tour (March 26–May 25) hits intimate halls and clubs nationwide, ensuring accessibility across the country.

For Western fans, “Love Letter” is available now on all major streaming platforms. Check MUCC’s official channels and ticket vendors for tour announcements, pre-order details, and live registration as they unfold.
