Mirai Kodai Gakudan Announce May 2027 Concert at Kanadevia Hall
Mirai Kodai Gakudan is taking their ambitious “Celebration or Fragment” series to an even larger stage in 2027. The experimental collective has announced that the fifth installment of their ongoing narrative project, titled “Kkoware yo Entaku no Garurande” (Shattered: The Garland of the Round Table), will premiere on May 15, 2027, at Kanadevia Hall in Tokyo Dome City — marking a significant venue upgrade from their previous performances at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo and Tokyo International Forum Hall C.
For those unfamiliar with Mirai Kodai Gakudan, the project represents a uniquely theatrical approach to rock music, blending classical instrumentation with avant-garde aesthetics and elaborate conceptual storytelling. Led by Gakuō Sunamori, the ensemble fuses piano, guitar, violin, contrabass, and percussion into densely layered compositions that prioritize narrative and visual spectacle alongside sonic innovation.

The fifth chapter will chronicle a new era within the series’ internal timeline. The title references “garurande” — a garland of flowers used both to adorn celebrations and to honor the deceased — which will serve as a central symbolic motif. The key visual, illustrated by renowned artist Kajiyas Soleil, depicts a queen wielding a sacred sword, setting the stage for what promises to be a visually stunning production.
The ensemble recently unveiled a new track called “Ephemeris (On the Rotation of the Celestial Spheres),” composed and arranged by Miyako Matsuoka with lyrics by Sunamori. The accompanying music video, directed by HAR and illustrated by Harada Miyuki, showcases the band’s commitment to multimedia storytelling.
