XANVALA's Tatsumi Celebrates Birthday with Hamamatsu Hometown Show
XANVALA vocalist Tatsumi is heading home to celebrate another year with a special birthday live this October, and the concept behind the event carries real weight.
For those newly acquainted with XANVALA, the Tokyo-based visual kei act has built a reputation for emotionally charged performances and introspective songwriting. Tatsumi, the band’s creative backbone, hails from Hamamatsu in Shizuoka Prefecture—a city that shaped his artistic identity during his formative years in the visual kei scene. It’s a connection he’s maintained throughout XANVALA’s career, regularly performing at the beloved local venue Hamamatsu Mado枠 and even appearing on the Entetsu Department Store’s digital billboard as a gesture of civic pride.
On October 18th, 2026—his actual birthday—Tatsumi will take the stage at Hamamatsu Madoわく for XANVALA 巽誕生祭2026 “人間賛歌” (Birthday Festival 2026: “In Praise of Humanity”). The concept title carries profound meaning: it celebrates the full spectrum of human existence—beauty alongside weakness, strength intertwined with fragility—affirming the act of simply persisting through life’s struggles. It’s a thematic thread Tatsumi has consistently woven through XANVALA’s discography.
The timing arrives amid a bustling period for the band. They’ve recently dropped the digital single “UNDEAD is BACK,” with their fourth album CRITICAL hitting CD shelves on November 7th (digital release starts November 4th). A nationwide tour under the CRITICAL banner launches that same month, followed by the 7th anniversary tour “PLEIADES” kicking off in 2027, with a final show at Ebisu The Garden Hall on January 31st—a venue where they nearly sold out earlier this year.
This October hometown show represents more than routine birthday fanfare; it’s Tatsumi’s artistic statement on survival, vulnerability, and what it means to keep creating in a world that demands so much.
