Psycho le Cému Close Revival Tour with Shibuya Finale
After seven months and multiple landmark performances, Psycho le Cému brought their ambitious “Tour 2026 REVIVAL STORY ~The Bonds of Rebirth~” to a triumphant close on October 4 at Shibuya WWW X. For a band that’s spent 27 years pushing visual kei’s boundaries, this wasn’t just nostalgia—it was a deliberate reckoning with their own legacy.
The tour concept revived “Psy Yuki-ki” (Psycho’s Journey), a theatrical storyline based on Journey to the West that the quintet first performed in 2004. Returning to that narrative 22 years later gave the band—vocalist DAISHI, guitarists Lida and AYA, bassist YURAsama, and drummer seek—a chance to measure their own growth. And grow they have.

Opening with energetic dialogue, the band launched into “Gekiai Merry-Go-Round” with visible ease, having clearly internalized the material across the tour. Setlist highlights—including their 2002 major-label debut “Uta no Ai,” the pulverizing “漆黒のゲルニカ” (Jet-Black Guernica), and the ubiquitous closer “Murderer・Death・Kill”—revealed songs that time hasn’t dulled. AYA’s comedic interludes as the female character of their narrative added genuine laughs, while DAISHI’s heartfelt delivery of “This Star’s Wish” proved why the tour’s emotional anchor worked.
The finale innovated on the original script: an encore sequence where the audience literally fanned ceremonial flames using hand fans distributed at entry (which, handily, also advertised their 2027 birthday live series). It’s this willingness to evolve tradition that made the Revival Story more than a victory lap.
In the post-show MC, DAISHI revealed something significant: Psycho le Cému have departed their longtime agency. “It’s just us and you,” he told the packed room—a stark declaration before their sights on Japan’s Nippon Budokan. The Revival tour, it became clear, wasn’t a retrospective. It was preparation for what comes next.
