Miku (Antic-Kafé) Covers OxT's "Grateful Story"

Miku from the rock outfit Antic-Kafé is stepping into fresh territory with a digital cover of OxT’s “Grateful Story,” arriving October 30th, 2026.

For those unfamiliar, Antic-Kafé have built a substantial following since their 2003 formation, becoming one of Japan’s more internationally recognized rock acts. Miku’s catchy, emotionally dynamic vocal delivery—blending accessibility with raw power—has become their signature, earning the band stages at venues like the Nippon Budokan and a devoted fanbase spanning Europe, the Americas, and beyond.

“Grateful Story,” originally composed by the OxT unit (featuring Masayoshi Oishi and Tom-H@ck), serves as the theme for the stage production Diamond no Ace The LIVE IV. The track itself is a digital rock number layering electronic synth textures with energetic, uplifting guitar work—exactly the kind of material that showcases Miku’s transparent yet forceful delivery.

The cover came about organically: Miku performed the song during the Hareza no Hi 5th Anniversary Summer Festival 2025 in Ikebukuro last August, and the response was strong enough to warrant an official studio version. In this rendition, her voice cuts through the driving rhythm with impressive clarity, capturing what she describes in a statement as the “breathless youth” the song expresses.

There’s additional synergy at play here. OxT are currently handling the ending theme for the anime Diamond no Ace act II -Second Season-, which keeps the creative circle nicely connected. Voice actor Ryota Osaka, who plays protagonist Eijun Sawamura, even recorded a message of support for the release, posted on Ponycanyon’s official X account.

Miku herself reflected on the track’s themes in her artist statement, noting how every experience—victories and setbacks alike—contributes to who we become. That resonates deeply with her own journey through music.
