eyed Share "silence" Teaser with Electronic Visionaries
eyed is stepping into intriguing new territory with their prologue single “silence,” and the band has just unveiled a teaser video that hints at something genuinely experimental for the Visual Kei space.
The five-member band, known for their theatrical presence and genre-blending approach, has enlisted two major talents outside the traditional VK sphere. Machìna, a Tokyo and Berlin-based electronic artist with serious credentials—touring with techno pioneer Richie Hawtin, performing at Berlin’s legendary Berghain club, and collaborating with fashion giants like Prada and Nike—handled the production. Kitamura Fuki, an adventurous songwriter who’s performed at Fuji Rock and SXSW and released the album Spira1oop, contributed lyrics and vocal topline.

The teaser itself is arresting—five members moving in connection across barren terrain, hair flowing, set against an atmospheric soundscape. The audio beds match footage shared on eyed’s social channels earlier in September, creating an intriguing sense of continuity.
Machìna’s production philosophy centers on restraint. Rather than stacking layers, he coaxed melody and harmony from a single drum machine, creating what he describes as “groove and depth born from minimalism.” The track features deep, rumbling kicks balanced with sharp synthesizer punctuation, designed to resonate both intimately and in club sound systems. “I wanted listeners to enjoy the subtle harmonic and melodic movements happening behind the rhythm,” Machìna explained, “and the space created between sparse sounds.”

Kitamura Fuki approached the lyrics with similar intentionality, stripping away artifice to explore authentic beauty. She focused on avant-garde melody choices within the techno framework while crafting words that grapple with universality and our fundamental humanity in an era of comparison and hierarchy. “I wanted to describe a structure where we question the reality we’re witnessing ourselves,” she shared.
The combination feels significant—two electronic-music enthusiasts who clearly respect the craft meeting eyed’s distinctive vocal presence. The question now is what magic emerges when those aesthetic worlds collide.
“silence” drops in one week. Head to eyed’s official channels—Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and their website—to stay locked in for the full release and any additional teasers.
