AKi Announces New Year's Eve Special Double Header
AKi—the solo project of SID bassist Aki—is ringing in 2027 with a bang. The visual kei musician will headline a special double-bill concert on December 31st at Thunder Snake ATSUGI in Kanagawa, delivering back-to-back afternoon and evening sets to close out 2026 with maximum impact.
For Western fans unfamiliar with AKi’s solo venture, it’s a chance to experience the SID bassist’s artistic identity outside the band’s established sound. While SID continues their “Re:Quest” hall tour throughout 2026, AKi has carved out space for this parallel project, supported by guitarists Tappa and YOUSAY, plus drummer Shio (from MAQIA).
The “AKi LIVE 2026 New Year’s Eve Special” kicks off at 14:30 and 17:30, with each show running approximately 90 minutes. Tickets cost ¥15,000 (roughly $100 USD) and are now available through AKi’s official online salon, “Resonants,” with pre-orders running through November 3rd.
What makes this show unmissable isn’t just the music. Attendees will receive curated gifts hand-picked by AKi himself, exclusive access to film one song on their phones for social media, and a post-show meet-and-greet. If that weren’t enough, every ticket holder gets a personalized New Year’s digital message from AKi delivered on January 1st—a thoughtful touch that speaks to his connection with fans.
This New Year’s Eve finale arrives amid a whirlwind December schedule. AKi is simultaneously hosting a co-headlining show with DEZERT on December 19th, a fan appreciation event on December 20th—billed as a “Christmas Special”—while maintaining his bass duties in SID’s ongoing hall tour. It’s an ambitious closing stretch that demonstrates AKi’s commitment to delivering maximum creative energy as 2026 winds down.
