SHAZNA's "Melty Love" Returns for 30th Anniversary
SHAZNA is marking three decades in the game with a nostalgia-laden revival of one of their biggest hits. The legendary visual kei veterans will release a 30th Anniversary version of “Melty Love” on New Year’s Day 2027—a fitting moment given the band’s own 30-year milestone that same year.
Originally released in 1997, “Melty Love” became a genuine phenomenon, moving 880,000 copies and cementing SHAZNA’s place in the visual kei hall of fame. Now, the band is breathing new life into the track with a fresh arrangement crafted alongside guitarist Masaki Suzuki, a former SHAZNA touring member who’s since built an impressive résumé scoring video games and anime productions. The digital single drops January 1st with its music video premiering on SHAZNA’s YouTube channel at 1:13 PM JST—a perfectly theatrical touch.
The timing isn’t coincidental: “Melty Love -30th Anniversary ver.-“ will serve as the theme song for Sentimental Grafitti Remake, a beloved dating sim that’s itself celebrating 30 years since the original Sentimental Grafitti and its predisk First Window hit shelves. For visual kei and game enthusiasts alike, this is essential listening—a crossover moment that respects both legacy properties.
Beyond the single, SHAZNA are hitting the live circuit hard this autumn and winter. Their “VERSUS” two-man live series runs through December at venues like Dancehall Shin-Seiki and Shibuya’s Unit, featuring collaborative sets with acts like ENVii GABRIELLA, Ryutaro Arimura, and Moi dix Mois. Earlier in October, they’re hosting the third installment of their “Beautiful Halloween Party” series at Akabane Reny alpha, featuring performances with MUCC, BugLug, KING, and others.
