MUCC is pulling out all the stops for vocalist YUKKE’s 47th birthday celebration this November, and the lineup they’ve assembled is nothing short of legendary.
The iconic Tokyo Visual Kei act will host YUKKE (5) 47th BIRTHDAY LIVE “†集会†” (Syūkai) on November 5th at Yokohama Bay Hall. The cryptic title—featuring those signature dagger crosses—is a deliberate nod to ’90s Visual Kei aesthetics that will make longtime fans immediately understand the reference. For those steeped in the golden age of VK, the imagery evokes a very specific time and place in the scene’s history, adding layers of meaning to what’s already shaping up to be an unmissable event.
MUCC’s phantom alter-ego La’Mucc will return for another supernatural performance, following last year’s reality-bending two-band live show. But this year introduces an exciting new element: La’days of youth -199X, a supergroup session band assembled specifically for this event. The roster reads like a Visual Kei all-star team: MUCC members will anchor the lineup alongside vocalist maya (LM.C), Yūgiri (Daisy×Daisy), guitarist KEN (D-SHADE), Iyoda Kohei, kikato (Iroiro na Jūjika), and drummer Yūya (SID).
The band name itself—referencing YUKKE’s high school years—signals that attendees should expect deep cuts and nostalgic material that celebrates the scene’s roots.
YUKKE has also hinted at special photo installations exclusive to the venue, adding an interactive dimension beyond the performances themselves. Perhaps most intriguingly, La’Mucc’s vocalist T.I.G has issued a cryptic statement: “Let’s finally end the final ending.” What does that mean for La’Mucc’s future? November will tell.
