L'Arc-en-Ciel Reissue 12 Classic Albums on Vinyl
Legendary visual kei pioneers L’Arc-en-Ciel are marking their 35th anniversary in style with an ambitious vinyl reissue campaign that spans their entire classic catalog.
The Tokyo outfit—fronted by the iconic hyde alongside guitarists ken, bassist tetsuya, and drummer yukihiro—will release 12 remastered vinyl editions across Q1 2027. The collection covers everything from their 1994 debut album Tierra through 2012’s BUTTERFLY, plus the 2000 remix album ectomorphed works. All 12 titles will arrive in four-album installments: January 13, February 17, and March 17, with each pressing priced at ¥6,900 (approximately $47 USD).
What sets this reissue apart is the meticulous mastering work by Shōtetsu Kogane of JVC Mastering Center, ensuring each album captures the sonic depth these records deserve on wax. For collectors completing the full set, there’s an incentive: 50 lucky fans will win a custom 12-album storage box via a dedicated entry campaign.
The vinyl news comes hot on the heels of L’Arc-en-Ciel’s landmark Summer Sonic 2026 appearance—their festival debut—where they headlined both the Tokyo and Osaka stages. The band also unveiled new single “総天然色” (Sōtenneniro), signaling their creative momentum heading into this milestone year. Now through December, they’re tearing through Japan on the “35th L’Anniversary Tour,” hitting seven cities across 16 shows, from the National Gymnasium in Tokyo to Osaka Castle Hall.
L’Arc-en-Ciel essentially wrote the rulebook for visual kei’s global crossover. Since their 1994 debut, they’ve dominated charts, sold out stadiums, and influenced countless bands worldwide.
