Z CLEAR Welcome New Drummer Yū, Launch "序曲" Tour
Z CLEAR is stepping into a bold new chapter. The Hiroshima-based Visual Kei outfit has officially welcomed drummer Yū as a full-time member, marking a significant lineup evolution as the band gears up for an ambitious new tour cycle beginning this September.
For those new to Z CLEAR, the band has built a reputation as a ferociously energetic act rooted in their hometown of Hiroshima. Vocalist AKIRA, guitarists Miyako and Tommy, and bassist Kō-chan have developed a devoted following through their raw, rebellious approach to Visual Kei—think theatrical aggression paired with genuine musicianship and emotional depth. Their appeal lies in refusing to play it safe, both sonically and visually.
Yū’s addition isn’t a random recruitment. He’s been supporting the band since their early Hiroshima days, making him intimately familiar with their sonic DNA and creative vision. The Z CLEAR ONEMAN TOUR “序曲” -Ketssei- (roughly “Overture: Foundation”) kicks off September 1st at Tokyo’s Ikebashi BlackHole, coinciding with AKIRA’s birthday celebration. The tour spans nine dates through October, culminating in a Grand Final at Veats Shibuya on February 25, 2027. The extended timeline and deliberately provocative naming suggest something larger is unfolding—this isn’t just a standard tour cycle.
Debuting at the opening show is Z CLEAR’s latest track, “麦” (Barley), available as a venue-limited single. The song uses the metaphor of barley—trampled yet resilient, deepening its roots—as a reflection of the band’s own philosophy. The accompanying music video was filmed at their Hiroshima home base and features cinematography work from XANVALA’s 70.
