Crack6 Complete "Insane Silentia" Tour; Chisato Announces Solo 30th Anniversary Project

Crack6—the solo project of PENICILLIN’s Chisato—has wrapped their “Insane Silentia” tour following a triumphant final show on July 18th at Tokyo’s Shibuya-KAX, and the musician has just unveiled plans for a milestone solo anniversary celebration that stretches into 2027.

For those unfamiliar with Chisato’s work outside PENICILLIN, Crack6 represents a distinctly different creative space: where the iconic vocalist explores heavier, more experimental territory alongside producer and guitarist Shigemorimiharu. The project has built a devoted fanbase drawn to its visceral energy and the palpable connection Chisato fosters with audiences during live performances.

The five-date tour was brief but impactful. Describing the experience, MSTR (Chisato) reflected on the genuine collaborative spirit between band and audience: “Crack6 has such a strong sense of euphoria. It wasn’t just about playing songs—it was about building the stage together with the fans who came.” A particularly heartwarming moment occurred during the semi-final show’s encore, when the band surprised Shigemorimiharu with an on-stage celebration of her 64th birthday.

The tour’s centerpiece was the debut of “Silentia,” a new track with a conceptual core: the title merges the words “Silent” (静寂) and the suffix “-ia” (世界, world) into a neologism representing a “world of silence.” The song itself oscillates between delicate, breathless melodies and powerful, defiant vocals and guitar work, embodying what the band describes as the “aesthetics of silence” and the “fleeting beauty of decay.”

More significantly, the tour finale marked the announcement of a 30-year retrospective project under Chisato’s solo name. The first single is scheduled for December 2026 release, with further announcements hinting at extended solo activity into 2027 and beyond.

“Silentia” is now available across all streaming platforms. For the latest from Chisato’s various projects, follow their official X accounts and check Crack6’s channel for upcoming announcements regarding both the solo material and any future Crack6 activity.
