Visual Kei fans have reason to celebrate—山内総一郎 is stepping into the spotlight with his highly anticipated solo debut. Best known for his work in the scene, the artist is launching a bold new chapter marked by the release of his first album under the “A-UN” project, a venture designed to explore both his unchanging artistic essence and his evolving musical direction.
The album, simply titled A (あ), arrives on July 22, 2026, and serves as a symbolic marker of 山内総一郎’s transition into solo work. Today, the lead single “Beautiful Notes” began its pre-release digital distribution, offering early listeners a taste of what’s to come. The track exemplifies the album’s diverse sonic palette—a collection of 11 songs that range from introspective pieces to upbeat, multifaceted compositions.
The tracklist balances previously released content with fresh material. Fans will recognize “GOOD FELLOWS,” featured in a Suntory non-alcoholic beverage campaign, and “人間だし” (Ningen Dashi), which serves as the opening theme for TV Tokyo’s drama series 晩酌の流儀４ ～秋冬編～. Alongside these are compelling new offerings like “ソラネコ,” “ぶらんにゅーでい,” “スロウダンス,” and the ethereal closing track “彗星たちのカンタータ.”

The limited first pressing (¥33,000 / ~$225 USD) includes a Blu-ray with three live recordings from his solo performances—The Hole In The Wall, OCTOBER SONGS, and ぶらんにゅーでい—plus an exclusive nylon track jacket. A standard DVD edition (¥3,960 / ~$27 USD) features music videos for “Beautiful Notes,” “人間だし,” and “旅にでる.” The regular CD-only version costs ¥3,300 (~$22 USD).
Tour Announcements
To celebrate the release, 山内総一郎 is launching a nationwide tour across eight cities, beginning August 2 in Osaka and continuing through late September. Dates include stops in Yokohama, Nagoya, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Sendai, and Tokyo.
