Kasumisouto Stella's Kawana Hikaru Unveils Debut Photo Book
Kawana Hikaru, a 2nd generation member of idol group Kasumisouto Stella (かすみ草とステラ), is stepping into the spotlight with her first-ever photo book, Natsu Zora ni Hikaru Hoshi (Summer Sky Shining Star), arriving July 31, 2026.
The photobook marks the inaugural release under “TOKYO IDOL GRAPH,” an exciting new series from Tokyo Faces—a collaborative label by acclaimed photographers Kumagai Tsuranuku and Saijou Akihito. The concept is refreshingly straightforward: capture idols who shine in Tokyo, photographed in Tokyo itself.
For those unfamiliar with Kasumisouto Stella, the group—formed in 2021—currently operates with 13 members across four generations, built around the narrative of ordinary girls delivering happiness through idol activity. Kawana, who joined in 2023, stands out as the group’s vocal powerhouse and a core member. Beyond her group work, she’s released solo material including “My Side,” available across major streaming platforms.
The shoot itself holds personal significance for Kawana, centering on two meaningful locations: Nakameguro and Odaiba. The first teaser image captures her strolling through Odaiba with a lemonade soda in hand, radiating date-like charm. In her comment, she reflected on the shoot: “I challenged myself to make my first photo book. Photographing in the places where I’ve grown, with a completely different feeling than before—it was genuinely fun, and I think this book captures who I am now. I hope I become your brightest star this summer.”
Kumagai praised her approachability despite initial shyness about her first swimsuit shoot, while Saijou noted her earnest commitment to introducing Kasumisouto Stella to wider audiences.
The book specs are solid: B5 format, 60 pages, published by Tokyo Faces.
