T.M.Revolution Performs

T.M.Revolution Performs "Jūōbujin Dandivaine" Anime Theme

A legendary voice in Japanese rock just landed one of next year’s most anticipated anime projects. T.M.Revolution—the solo venture of Takanori Nishikawa that’s been a fixture in Japanese pop culture since the late 1990s—will perform the opening theme for the brand-new mecha anime Jūōbujin Dandivaine (Beast King Warrior Dandivaine), set to premiere in October 2026.

For those unfamiliar with Nishikawa’s work: he’s the man behind some of Japan’s most iconic rock anthems. His T.M.Revolution project exploded onto the scene in 1996 with “Dokusatsu -monopolize-“ and delivered stadium-shaking hits like “HOT LIMIT” and “INVOKE.” Beyond music, he’s also worked extensively as an actor, voice actor, and TV personality. In recent years, his independent work under his own name has gained serious momentum—his 2024 single “FREEDOM” became a long-running chart success.

Dandivaine is no ordinary anime tie-up, either. The series marks the first installment of Good Smile Company’s ambitious “Gattai Shin” (Combined Deity) project, launched to celebrate the toy and merchandise company’s 25th anniversary. The concept is audacious: each year will see a new combining robot anime with a different thematic focus, aiming to establish a modern standard for mecha storytelling. The production boasts serious pedigree, with Raiden Film and Kayak Animation handling animation duties and seasoned screenwriter Toshiki Inoue helming the script.

The story follows Gekiha Shijima, a high schooler drawn into piloting the legendary Dandivaine after a mysterious enemy called Apothdor resurfaces twenty years after its initial defeat. The setup plays on themes of nostalgia, corporate desperation, and generational duty—classic mecha fare with modern twists.

In his official comment, Nishikawa emphasized his personal connection to robot anime and his desire to showcase Japan’s mecha legacy to global audiences. The opening theme details will arrive later, but given his track record with high-energy rock anthems, expect something suitably explosive.
