READY TO KISS Return to Roots with Ikebukuro WHITE BASE Reunion Shows
When a venue closes its doors, sometimes it reopens with deeper meaning. READY TO KISS experienced exactly that when they headlined the inaugural shows at the newly renovated Ikebuk566 WHITE BASE in Tokyo—the very birthplace of their group’s origins.
For those unfamiliar, READY TO KISS are veterans of the Japanese Visual Kei scene, operating under the I-GET agency. The band has been active for approximately 16 years, building a loyal fanbase through energetic live performances and emotionally charged rock arrangements. They’re known for their blend of alternative rock sensibilities with J-pop hooks and genuinely enthusiastic audience engagement.
WHITE BASE holds special significance: it was founded during the early days of I-GET’s predecessor company and served as an incubator for emerging acts. Over the years, the intimate 100-capacity venue hosted member solo shows, unit performances, and even pandemic-era livestreams. When plumbing issues forced temporary closure, the facility underwent complete renovation to restore its concert capabilities.

As the senior act in the I-GET roster, READY TO KISS claimed the honor of reopening shows. Despite how cramped the venue is for their current scale, all seven members enthusiastically participated—a nod to the space that launched their career.
The two-night stand (June 6–7) featured zero setlist overlap between evenings. Across both nights, they performed 27 songs total, spanning their entire 16-year discography. The June 7 show notably included “Jitensha” (Bicycle), their very first performed song, alongside rarer deep cuts previously written by I-GET representative NAOKI during his pre-READY TO KISS band era.

The intimacy transformed the experience. Member callouts reverberated with raw power. Fans could nearly touch performers during solo sections. Emotional ballads like “Siren and Jealousy” hit harder in such proximity. The closing pair—”STAR LIGHT” followed by “Invincible Mode”—sent audiences into genuine euphoria.
Upcoming performances include their monthly residency show vol. 22 at Gotanda G2 on June 17, and Mizushima Sakura’s birthday celebration at Aoyama RizM on July 5.
