lynch. unveils "ICE" MV ahead of CLIMAX album release
Nagoya’s lynch. are ramping up the hype for their new album CLIMAX with a striking music video that captures the duality at the heart of the lead single “ICE.”
For those unfamiliar with the band, lynch. have been a staple of Japan’s underground rock scene since their 2004 formation. After grinding through the independent circuit, they achieved major label success in 2011 and have steadily built a dedicated fanbase through relentless touring and consistent output. The group recently celebrated their 20th anniversary last April with a special retake album and have continued to expand their live presence—including their triumphant return to Budokan in 2022 after a pandemic-related cancellation.
“ICE” is described as a composition that weaves together “freezing sorrow” and “blazing passion,” and the newly released music video translates that emotional tension into visual form through stark contrasts between desolate, cinematic moments and explosive stage performance footage. The interplay between stillness and kinetic energy creates a hypnotic rhythm that perfectly mirrors the song’s lyrical and sonic intensity.

CLIMAX drops July 1st and includes “ICE” alongside nine other tracks, with the initial pressing bundled with a Blu-ray featuring the music video and behind-the-scenes footage. To celebrate the release, lynch. will hit the road this summer and autumn with their “IGNITE THE CLIMAX” tour, visiting venues across Japan from mid-July through late September.
The band will also appear at signing sessions in Tokyo (July 5), Osaka (July 13), and their hometown Nagoya (September 13), and they’re partnering with Music Bar ROCKAHOLIC in Shinjuku for a special week-long collaboration from June 30–July 6.
