KIRITO Completes "THE SHIFT COMPLETE" Tour with Emotional Final

On June 7th, KIRITO brought his “THE SHIFT COMPLETE” tour to a close at EX THEATER ROPPONGI in Tokyo, delivering a performance that felt less like an ending and more like a deliberate turning point in his solo career. The 11-date run, which kicked off in April at Yokohama Bay Hall, served as the vehicle for his latest mini-album SHIFT—but this show was about far more than just promoting new material.

KIRITO is a solo artist emerging from the visual kei scene, known for his theatrical presentation and emotionally-driven compositions that blend heavy instrumentation with introspective lyricism. His recent trajectory has been unusually complex: a February birthday concert titled “PARADIGM RIFT,” the April release of SHIFT, and now this tour—each chapter forming a deliberate narrative arc symbolizing premonition, transformation, and establishment. The backdrop includes his simultaneous involvement with multiple projects (his original band PIERROT and Angelo) throughout 2025, which influenced how he restructured his songwriting pace and artistic direction.

The finale featured 24 songs with support from guitarist JOHN, guitarist Yu-taro (NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST), bassist Chiyu (SLAPSLY), and drummer Natsu (NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST). True to his format, KIRITO performed SHIFT in its entirety during the first set. Despite being only six tracks, this mini-album represents a significant sonic shift—emphasizing melody over the heavy guitar work that defined his previous three albums (NEOSPIRAL, ALPHA, CROSS). The set subsequently navigated between SHIFT’s thematic content and deeper cuts like “KINGDOM OF THE NEW SEEDS,” “GRAND SCHEME,” and “Discord,” each reinforcing themes of creation, renewal, and destiny.

The emotional center came mid-set, where ballads “Shizuku” (Droplet), “INTO THE MIRROR,” and “Gareki no Hana” (Flower of Rubble) revealed KIRITO’s vulnerable side—particularly the latter, which he delivered with raw conviction, his fist pressed repeatedly against his chest as he sang.

Crowd reaction during THE SHIFT COMPLETE finale

The encore opened with “CROSS OVER THE WORLD LINE,” after which KIRITO addressed the crowd: “Today my chest is so full… words aren’t needed. I’ll answer through music. Let’s love each other more! Let’s become one!” Warm singalongs erupted during “I BLESS YOU,” while the earlier solo track “TEAR” connected past and present. The set closed with “NEOSPIRAL”—a hard-hitting statement that SHIFT’s emphasis on love and emotional directness had earned its place as the gateway to whatever comes next.

KIRITO announced that this tour finale will be released as a live Blu-ray and DVD. He’s already moving forward with acoustic performances scheduled for July 18–19 at Kanda Square Hall in Tokyo.
