Karanoah Scores TV Anime Tie-Ups with "Bakemono" and "Sunaglass"
Karanoah is riding a wave of momentum with not one but two major broadcast placements lined up for summer and fall 2026. The Tokyo-based rock outfit has secured both an ending theme for the Samurai Trooper anime reboot and a new single placement on regional television—marking a significant expansion of their reach into multimedia territory.
First up is “Sunaglass” (砂時計), a brand-new track penned specifically for Chiba Television’s baseball digest program High School Baseball Digest. Airing during the summer tournament season, the song was conceived as a tribute to perseverance and the often-invisible weight of accumulated effort. According to the band’s statement, the composition pairs Karanoah’s signature pop sensibility with a soaring, muscular rock foundation—the kind of song designed to inspire viewers grinding through their own daily struggles. The band promises an accompanying music video soon.

More exciting is their ending theme for the second cour of Samurai Trooper (the beloved 1980s mecha property getting a modern remake). “Bakemono” (ばけもん—”monster”) drops July 8 and takes a wildly different approach. The band fused traditional Japanese instrumentation—bamboo flutes, taiko drums, sword samples—with cutting-edge electronic and contemporary rock arrangements. It’s a lyrical powerhouse too, exploring both protagonist and antagonist perspectives through conversational, almost theatrical phrasing rather than generic anime tropes.
The Samurai Trooper second season begins July 7 across TOKYO MX, Kansai Television, and BS11, with worldwide streaming on U-NEXT, Anime Hodai, and d Anime Store. To celebrate, Karanoah will headline a one-man show titled Bakemono vs Bakemono at Shinjuku Samurai in Tokyo on September 23, 2026 (19:00 start). Official pre-sale tickets are available now via e-Plus.
Those wanting to explore Karanoah’s broader output should check out their May 2026 EP Tsugihagi, which includes early single previews “April” and “Planaria” already available across streaming platforms. The band’s live schedule remains packed throughout the year.
Head to their official site (karanoah-official.jp) or e-Plus for ticket details and the latest updates on both broadcast placements.
