BugLug's Bagsami 2026 Festival Breaks VK Records with 94 Bands

BugLug is taking their annual festival to unprecedented scale. The Tokyo edition of Bagsami 2026 will feature a record-breaking 94 bands across two days—making it the largest Visual Kei festival lineup in history.

BugLug, the Tokyo-based theatrical rock act known for their intense visual presentation and genre-blending sound, has expanded Bagsami into a three-city event for 2026. Beyond the Tokyo 2-day spectacle, the festival will also run in Nagoya and Osaka, solidifying it as a major pillar of Japan’s Visual Kei calendar. The Tokyo dates will utilize six venues across Shibuya—Spotify O-EAST, O-WEST, O-Crest, O-nest, duo MUSIC EXCHANGE, and clubasia—replicating last year’s multi-venue setup.

With 94 participating bands (including BugLug’s appearances on both days), organizers have shattered previous festival records. The lineup spans both established names and rising acts within the VK scene, reflecting the movement’s continued vitality and breadth.

Alongside the festival announcement, BugLug has unveiled the music video for their new single, “Original Not Found.” The visual opens with a character scrolling through social media, watching a soccer video, then descends into a surreal meditation on identity dissolution in an AI-optimized society. The track itself is psycho-digital rock—disorienting, contemporary, and unmistakably BugLug.
