Buck-Tick Drummer Yagami Toll Celebrates 64th Birthday Live in 2026
Buck-Tick isn’t slowing down—and neither is their legendary drummer. The Visual Kei pioneers have announced a special birthday live celebrating Yagami Toll’s 64th year, set for August 19, 2026, at Tokyo’s intimate Shangri-La venue in Shimokitazawa. It’s become a cherished tradition for the band to mark their drummer’s birthday with a dedicated show, and this milestone promises to be unmissable.
For those unfamiliar, Buck-Tick stands as one of Japan’s most influential and enduring Visual Kei acts, having defined the movement’s sound and aesthetic since the late 1980s. Yagami Toll’s powerhouse drumming has been central to their dark, electronic-tinged rock vision across decades of releases. At 64, he shows no signs of slowing down.
The live will feature Yagami Toll alongside his solo project Yagami Toll & Blue Sky, which includes guitarist/vocalist Harada Kenta, bassist/vocalist KANAME, and guitarist Yagi Masato. Guest appearances are also planned, though details haven’t been revealed yet.

Not to be outdone, Buck-Tick frontman Atsushi (Hoshino Hidehiko) will also celebrate a major milestone in 2026—his 60th birthday. That celebration gets its own dedicated show, Ruby Horizon 60, scheduled for June 16, 2026, at SGC Hall Ariake in Tokyo. Tickets for that event are ¥11,000 and include venue merchandise.
In addition to these live announcements, Buck-Tick is in the midst of reissuing classic albums on vinyl with newly remastered audio and restored original artwork. Recent pressings include 1991’s Kyoutta Taiyou (Mad Sun) and 1992’s self-cover album Satsushinochoshirabe ~This is NOT Greatest Hits~. Their 1993 seventh album Darker Than Darkness ~Style93~ arrives on vinyl June 23—limited production runs for all three.
