闇雲 Announce Taiwan Debut, Circuit Fest & Album News
Rising visual kei girls’ loud group 闇雲 (yamikumo) just made a major power move—and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.
Fresh off a record-breaking solo performance at Tokyo Kinema Club on June 18, the band unveiled an ambitious slate of announcements that signals serious momentum in the Japanese underground scene. For those just discovering them: 闇雲 are a visceral, guitar-driven visual kei group fronted by vocalist 深淵 狂流 (Shinsoku Kyōryū) with an aesthetic that blends gothic imagery, aggressive choreography, and thematically heavy songwriting. Their January single “憎悪” (Shōgō / Hatred) hit 120k YouTube views quickly and caught the attention of TV Tokyo, landing them an ending theme placement on music program 超⚡️超音波.
The June performance, titled “遺書” (Isho / Testament), served as the grand finale to their Kamikaze Tour and drew the venue’s largest-ever attendance. What makes this significant: their December 2025 one-man sold out instantly, forcing a same-day additional show. By the time their spring nationwide tour wrapped, they’d pulled over 1,000 fans across nine venues. That’s legitimate momentum for an emerging act.
The announcements came rapid-fire. They’re launching 闇墜Fes (Yamikui Fes)—a 40+ artist circuit event—on July 26 at Shibuya venues The Game and Milkway. A new single “Maggots” drops as a limited release. August brings their first full digital album “闇堕” (Yamikui), followed by a two-day album release tour called “轟音地獄” (Thunderous Hell). They’re also running a three-city tour dubbed “三都激撃” across Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya in late summer.
But the headline: 闇雲’s first international show is happening November 2026 in Taiwan.
The band ended the evening by announcing December’s follow-up one-man, “下剋上” (Gekokujō / Reversal of Status) at Shibuya Womb, explicitly framed as a “revenge” show to secure a complete sell-out after their previous Womb date didn’t fill.
This is a band betting everything on themselves—and Western fans should be paying attention.
