Plastic Tree Launch "Strange Fruits" Anniversary Show in 2026

Plastic Tree is taking fans on a nostalgia trip this summer with a special one-man live celebrating their legendary 1995 debut album Strange Fruits.

The Tokyo neo-visual kei pioneers—fronted by vocalist and guitarist Arimura Ryutaro and bassist Hasegawa Masashi—continue their sprawling 30th anniversary campaign with Plastic Tree Phylogenetic Tree Tour Special Act: A Piece of “Strange Fruits”. The show hits Ichikawa Bunka Kaikan in Chiba Prefecture on July 31st, 2026.

Plastic Tree 2026 tour announcement

Since their 1997 major label debut with “Cracked Window,” Plastic Tree have remained one of visual kei’s most restless and forward-thinking acts. Their catalog swings wildly—from aggressive guitar-driven assaults to surprisingly melodic pop-leaning cuts—and their theatrical live presence has captivated audiences from Japan to international tours. In 2007, they marked a decade of major-label success with a historic Nippon Budokan performance; they returned to the same venue two years later to prove it was no fluke.

The current Phylogenetic Tree campaign, running through 2027, reimagines each chapter of the band’s discography as its own live event. This special act focuses on Strange Fruits, the debut that set the template for everything to follow. Expect a deep-cut heavy setlist diving into one of visual kei’s most formative records.

Official fan club members can secure tickets through the first-wave lottery drawing, which runs through May 19th, 2026. This is a must-see for anyone invested in the band’s legacy or curious about neo-visual kei’s foundational era.
