MUCC Mark 29 Years with Major H2 2026 Live Schedule
On May 4th, legendary Visual Kei outfit MUCC celebrated their 29th anniversary—and they came bearing gifts for fans. The band revealed an ambitious second-half 2026 live schedule during a special anniversary livestream broadcast, with dates ranging from intimate birthday shows to a full-scale festival headlined by the band themselves.
For those new to MUCC: the outfit have been a cornerstone of Visual Kei since 1995, known for their atmospheric, prog-tinged sound and deeply artistic approach to performance. Over three decades, they’ve remained fiercely independent and creatively restless—qualities on full display in this year’s slate of shows.
The second half kicks off with MUCC’s traditional birthday live series. Guitarist Miya performs July 26–27 at BLAZE Gotanda (two consecutive nights); bassist Tatsurou takes August 21 at Tokyo Cinema Club; and drummer YUKKE performs November 5 (venue TBA). These shows are always highly anticipated, as bandmates famously surprise each other on stage.
August brings a pair of major Osaka events at Gorilla Hall. On the 1st, MUCC headlines a solo show performing fan requests that missed the cut from their June 9th special live at Zepp Haneda. The 2nd sees them co-headline with The Back Horn and Cock Roach in a three-band bill titled “Love Together EXTRA Feat. えん”—reuniting with The Back Horn after an extended gap.
But the real centerpiece is LuV Together 2026, MUCC’s own curated festival on September 5–6 in their hometown of Mito. The lineup reads like a who’s-who of contemporary and classic Visual Kei: XANVALA, DEZERT, D’ESPAIRSRAY, Merry, lynch., and KIRITO joining MUCC across both days. This is the kind of event that crystallizes MUCC’s influence—bridging rising talents with established acts.
