Merry, MUCC, and 蜉蝣 Reunite for "Daisuke Matsuri" One Final Festival
Three titans of the early-2000s Visual Kei scene are stepping back together for one night only. Merry, MUCC, and 蜉蝣 (Ephemera) have announced a special collaborative event called “大佑祭り!!” (Daisuke Matsuri) to be held on July 30, 2025, at Zepp Haneda in Tokyo—a celebration tied to a deeply personal tribute that has the entire scene talking.

For those deep in VK history, these three bands were once revered as the “御三家” (Gosanke—the “Big Three”) during the movement’s most explosive era. Yet they’d never performed together as a triple billing until now. The reunion carries profound weight: it’s being organized by Merry’s Gala as a birthday celebration and tribute to 蜉蝣’s late vocalist Daisuke, honoring a promise the two friends made to one another years ago.
In an extraordinarily candid statement, Gala recounts how Daisuke had originally introduced him to MUCC’s Tatsurou, sparking a creative kinship that defined a generation. He describes initially feeling jealous of their friendship, watching the three bands inspire each other while deliberately keeping their relationship sacred—never performing together until the time was right. That moment is now.
Gala’s words are emotionally raw: he recalls how Daisuke’s constant energy and unpredictability made him unforgettable, and how a casual conversation over beers last July evolved into the concrete plan for this festival. “What I want most is for Daisuke’s fans to be smiling, and for Daisuke to be happy,” Gala writes. He’s made clear this will happen only once—a final, unrepeatable celebration rather than a recurring event.

MUCC’s Tatsurou pledges to bring maximum chaos and joy, while kazu (蜉蝣) expressed genuine excitement to perform the band’s songs again for audiences. All standing tickets and most reserved seating have already sold out. General ticket sales began May 16, 2025.
For Western fans who lived through the Visual Kei boom or are discovering this era’s legacy, this is a watershed moment. Head to official ticketing channels and Merry, MUCC, and 蜉蝣’s official sites for further details on this historic one-time event.
